Hi, just wanted you to know how I did the copy for the leaf. I placed a piece printer paper onto my pc. screen and traced over it with a pencil.
Worked great and that way didn't have to print out the whole tute. Got the real size on it too that way.
    Love your mug rug leaf.

    sitting all alone
    put your mug on me
and give me a home. :)

By Jigs that's a clever idea! :D The cost of pencil lead is a heck of a lot less than printer ink! We get so caught up in technology that we forget the simple solutions sometimes.

I'm a little puzzled about why the whole tutorial would have to be printed out though. For anyone who actually does want to print out the pattern anymore after reading Jigs' money saving solution, if you click the download button right under the leaf pattern, then you get just the pattern on one whole page.

That is a really sweet Mug Rug Poem. ;) If you haven't already, you should add it to one of the two Mug Rug Poem /gift tag topic pages!

I think it would be really neat to include the poems with mug rug gifts. And it's fun to make up your own too.

Thank you for sharing. You just gave me an idea. Our son is getting married October 1 and we are giving the rehearsal dinner on September 30. I am thinking about making these for the attendees (21). I hope that I am not biting off more than I can chew (ha). I guess I wlll have to give up golf this week.

Hi, I copied from my pc screen because when I hit ("ctrl, then P") the whole tute came up on my screen. So that's when I drew it from the screen.
I wasn't trying to take anything from your information you gave, but found this worked for me so that's another way to copy a pattern as needed.
By the way your tute is wonderful and very clear. Thanks :)

So I told myself “Lara, Step Away From the Computer”, went for a walk outside in the sunshine, got a real maple leaf and made up my own pattern. I found some fabrics that would hide stains and wash up well and then made up a few maple leaf mug rugs for our family room. My DH even said he loves them!

So I am now posting this for anyone else who would also like to make them. Seems like an Autumn-y thing to do. If any of you do make one, I would LOVE to see your pictures and see how they come out in different fabrics.

Please bear with me while I post the directions and pictures, as I’m going to post them one step at a time to keep them in the right order.
Just saw someone that made these on the board tonight and added a stem, they are so nice. Just wanted to share with you I thought of making a bigger one and zooming the pattern up bigger and storing the four in it on my antiques trunk when not using them. Just leave the bottom open and turn under and put the four in it, what u think.......Just love your idea.....nice for gifts at work. I like to do the seasons with a surprise for all at work and this is perfect, thanks for sharing.
