Sounds very exciting!
I'm also thinking of 'structuring' mine my using 'paths' between flower beds and areas of 'lawn'. A tan trellis separating red and blue flowers sounds lovely, and some green leaves would only add to the contrast and give two reddish colours and two blueish colours .... One version of GFG that I've seen had triabgular blocks of three hexagons surrounding each flower block, which made attractive star-shaped blocks repeating across the quilt.
Is there an area on here to talk about one's individual projects, air ideas and ask for advice? I suppose that would be sort of like a blog post ...

Yes! Lund is my nearest 'city' but although it has very ancient city status it is more like a lovely university town of old buildings and cobbled streets. I love Lund!

I've started a 'blog' of My Quilting Journey in the section called 'Personal Diaries and Announcements'
Thank you very much to those who pointed me that way ... you have to click on 'see all sections' and then it's at the bettom, click on 'subscribe' and it then appears in the forum list like the others ....
I will shortly confess to my sinful adventures int he fabric shop, which I'm sure boils down to "What do you want for Christmas?" "Well, would you like to treat me to X or Y or Z that I've already bought?"
LOL!
