Hobby Lobby originated here in Oklahoma City. As others have written, their stores are huge with always good sales for crafts & home decor. Their calicos are always 30% off the price on the end of the bolt, and every other week there's a coupon, both in your newspaper and on line for 40% off the regular price. You can sign up on line to get their weekly specials, including the coupon, which you can print out. I do wish they had more fabric, but usually I can find something I can use at a reasonable price.
I'm glad you're getting a Hobby Lobby in your town. It is run by very ethical people, it seems. They're not all over the country yet, but are growing.

One thing that DOES annoy me about HL is that they still use price tags and not scanners on their registers. This can delay the check out process as the clerk has to KNOW everything that is on sale. Yes, they do have a "cheat sheet" available. Can't believe in this day and age of technology, that they don't use what is available.

I work for Hobby Lobby. We carry everything from fabrics to scrapbooking. HL has a huge home accents department that has many unique things for your home. The thing to remember is this...never pay full price for anything. It will be on sale at one time or another. They have 40% off coupons every other week. The closer it gets to Christmas, the coupons will be every week. Enjoy the store. I believe you will like it.

I would like to comment on the remark about HL not using scanners....understand this...HL is a Christian store. The owner, David Green, believes that bar codes are tied to the Mark of the Beast. He may very well be right. You have to work there to understand.

HL has nice fabric and more tone on tone choices than our Hancock Fabrics. I often use the 40% off coupon for batting or backing. Sign up to receive coupon and sale notifications from HL. The come to your inbox every Sunday and every other Sunday includes the 40% off coupon. The cottons and calicos are on sale 30% off all the time so $10/yd Norcott fabric is really $7/yd.
