Looks like I'm the only one not happy with Mark in command of the magazine. I subscribed to Fabric Trends for years and suddenly I get an issue so totally different than what was there before. I buy quilting magazines for patterns and ideas, but found that issue lacking of both. Didn't take me long to cancell my newly renewed subscription. Maybe I'll just buy an issue at a time at the newstand for a while to see if it's changing back to what I prefer.

I agree. I don't care for Mark Lipinski's humor. I read a condescending tone to women in it. Nevertheless, I wish him well in his recovery.

Did he get another gig or does he not play well with others ;)?
I was at the Jacksonville, FL quilt show yesterday and heard that Mark is not doing well health-wise. His numbers are not good on his kidney function and the woman who was supposed to be his donor turned out to not be compatible. Anyone want to donate a kidney to him?

Hmmm..... six feet, given to punching others in the chest, hmmm ......are you sure it was a she?
Completely unacceptable behavior on any level. I hope you don't still live in that community....Before retirement I worked in a job doing home visits for a child welfare agency. At times I would find myself sitting across from some pretty dangerous biker/ drug dealer folks...They had better manners and never, even once, tried to punch me.

That woman would have been arrested for agravated assault. My husband is an ex-cop and she should have been charged and made to go to anger management. Sounds like she is a bully and continues to get away with her bad behavior, Maybe the quilt shop owner is scared of her also.Sorry, you had such a bad time with psycho quilter.

Do tell us about that incident! So sorry that happened to you, sounds like it may have been rather traumatic.
    :-(
It was somebody I knew. I think she was over six feet tall. Husky. Always well-dressed and well-coiffed and well made up. President of the evening group of the guild I belonged to and in charge of the quilt show in another guild we both belonged to. Very generous with her little gifts to everyone who attended an evening meeting. I was in a quilt shop one afternoon when she stormed in. I said hi and she said something about how she wouldn't talk to me because of what I had done. I should have let it go right there. I didn't know what she was alluding to, so I went to the back of the store to ask her if she wanted to talk. I never did figure out what she was accusing me of. She got pretty agitated. Head rolling, looking at the ceiling, shouting. Next thing I knew she had punched me int he chest. The shop owner was standing right behind her. Took me a few minutes, but I decided to drive down to the police station and fill out a report. They asked whether I wanted to appear before a magistrate or just have a police officer talk with her. If I had known then that this had happened before, I would have opted for the magistrate. The shop owner insisted that the whole thing never happened. When I dropped my jaw, the shop owner said, "Well, you were in her way." The puncher was from Texas. This occurred in Nevada. I was told it was just a form of Wild West Justice. They kicked me out of one guild after I showed someone a copy of the police report -- two accosted me in the parking lot and wanted to give back my dues money. That was when I found out that similar things had happened before in that group. Traumatic -- I was more amazed at the time it happened, but my doctor said that if she had hit me closer to my heart that I could have been severely injured or died from the pounding. Wild West Justice when someone is in your way. Where I come from we say, "Excuse me please. I'd like to get by." Shouting "get out of my way" would have even been more acceptable at the time!
I'm from Texas, and I'm here to tell you Wild West Justice is not what we consider acceptable. This woman has a problem that goes way beyond whatever it was she thought you had done. She sounds to me like the type of person who needs to be in control in all situations, and when that doesn't happen, she goes ballistic. Unfortunately, there are people like that all over and in increasing numbers. And I hope you took your dues money with a smile. Sheez... you don't need that in your life! Trust me, some of the nicest, sanest people you'll ever meet are Texans - don't buy the stereotypes.

I always wondered where Mark went. No, I think I will pass on the guild thing.
