Give the quilt. The different colors are a good visual experience for the baby and it definitly is a boy quilt.

I love all things unusual, and therefore I think your quilt is right up my alley, and I truly do like it!! Not to mention the fact that it is one of a kind and I'm sure any child would love it. You'll get no criticism, I'm certain.

I Love your your quilt. I for one hate pale pink and blue baby quilts. The I helped my sister make for her 2nd grand-daughter is Choclate brown and a very bright pink. Nothing "baby" about it.

You know if your really worried about it, you can show it to yoru friend under the story of asking advice as if it is a gift for someone else. Give you an idea if she likes it or not.

I agree, it is something a 5 year old would not mind using.

Hubby has been encouraging me to give it anyway, as it's a nice usable cozy quilt, but is it too darned ugly to give away?

I like it - the fabric you chose is masculine, yes, but also has a traditional feel to it. I am a big fan of unconventional baby stuff though. Only you can make the call as to whether or not you think the mom in question will appreciate it. I like the post that suggested you donate it to Project Linus should you choose not to give it to the mom. Of course, you could give the mom the choice and tell her you were not sure if she would like it but that if she does, she can have it. I did that once, with a quilt I made for a friend. It did not turn out the way I liked at ALL but when I gave my friend the choice, she happily accepted it.

I've posted a short time ago, and then went back for a 2nd and 3rd look. Everytime I gaze on your quilt, I like it more and more. It is definitely NOT ugly!!!

I think this quilt will be treasured by a little boy as he grows, since it is not too babyish.

I like it and remember small quilts used to be just that, not done in baby colors. Also, this quilt will grow with the child and not just be for a baby. Well done.

Go ahead and give it for the baby gift-it is a good little quilt and it isn't ugly.

I love it and you should give it with pride! It's something the kid can grow up with. You should be proud, any child would love it.

I asked my hubby what he thought of it as a baby quilt... answer was... "A-1, top of the line". I agree, I think it will be loved and used for years.
