Give Froggy a break-I think she was just trying to be positive. I like the reply that if you don't care for the post-don't read it.

Hi Froggy in Texas~~~
Today I am wearing my Tee shirt that says: "It's better to have laugh wrinkles than worry warts", and has a cute green frog on it. ;)

In today's paper there was an article about using all the carp that has been invading a lake to feed the hungry. What a great idea instead of trying to get rid of / kill / toss all that fish. They said a chef came in and prepared the fish, that it was mild like Tilapia but did have a few large bones. People are turned off by the name 'carp'.

Other than that, No carping here. Just a glorious day in the high desert of CA.

Ok, ladies and gents of the Board... we need a Carping Block. Let's put our heads together and dream one up for those days when it seems like nothing is going right! We could even make a Carping Quilt, to wrap up in when everything seems perverse. You've got to admit that it would get a lot of use these days.

By the way, the verb "carp" comes from Middle English carpen, which comes from Old Norse karpa, to boast. So many of our English words come from Old Norse - like "berserk," for example, which didn't even undergo any spelling changes.

Dear Froggy,
I agree with you. But on Friday, one of my friends gave me a quilt that she started some years ago, and got discouraged because it was going wrong. All it needs is binding! Now I think that is nice!
The guy who orders produce at the local Wall Mart gets globe artichokes for me and a few others.
So many nice people live here on the Texas coast.

If people knew how delicious carp is to eat, there would be no problem about there being too many. We would be gobbling them all up! (and overfishing them too!)

Me too...........and I really dislike carp!!!lol..lol
I am curious about that, because all the ones I have ever eaten were really delicious! ( steamed them) and a funny note=
Goldfish are a kind of carp....and in the 1930s or 40s, they had a craze where mostly kids swallowed them whole and alive!
