An employee at work has a wife battling agressive cancer..They have now called hospice for her. When I made the Breast Cancer donation quilt he made mention how she's always chilly no matter the temp. ( I got the hint) Just didn't realize she was as bad as she was until last week when they called Hospice. My questions are 1.) What is a quick way a very inexperienced quilter can machine quilt this? 2.) If she doesn't make it thru the week and he doesn't make it back to work for me to give to him do I give it to him after her passing? (I only see him during work)

Do you know how to 'BIRTH' a quilt? That should only take about an hour. (four inches/four stitches, again and again) The quilting does not have to be fancy just consistent.

i'd be tempted to get out the quilting guide that came with my machine and just crosshatch it.

you can quilt any design you want on your reg machine. stitch in the ditch, corner to corner or rows and even stipple. if he does not make it to work be sure some one or you get it to him before she passes. it will mean more to him if she has held it in her hands. I will keep him and her in my prayers. and Bless you for creating a great memory for them both.

Is this sandwiched yet? If not, you can always use fleece or something instead of batting. Then it won't need so much quilting.

Cross hatch! I just did my first! Used painters tape for the lines. Used 3-4 strips. Sewed in between then moved tape! Went fast. Then reversed direction! Used board method to baste. Didn't move a bit! Sharon is a genius! Never can spell her last name. It's on you tube. Good luck and god bless her and family.
