    You could just come across on the diagonal about 4 - 6 inches apart, going both directions with a wavy stitch. I like using a variegated thread.

    That is very beautiful! The easiest would probably stitch in the ditch or lines of stitching and criss cross them! (like tic tac toe)

    Ir you use Warm and Natural batting , you only have to quilt every 8 inches, make wavy lines on their biggest stitch up every 8 inches and then back the other way.

    Or use fleece/ and quilt even farther apart.

    Lovely quilt top.

    Cross-hatching is beautiful and fast--blue tape helps you stich these elegant grids even faster and the strips of tape can be used over and over without any residue sticking to the quilt.

    I would give him the quilt in her memory if need be. It was made for her and will comfort him, and he will need that! I was given a small quilt from the hospital where my mom died this past March and I cherish it.
