I've started saving them to help out whoever needs them. My question is, how do you charge for them?

I wouldn't be able to charge anyone, but maybe swapping for a yard of batik or something may be fun. or 4 fat quarters of a fun fabric in your colors.

I used to live in Centerville Ohio. Are you anywhere near there?

i might swap yardage for yardage, but i don't think i would swap for something i was going to throw out.

how many selvedges does it take to make a yard?

I don't save mine, but if someone wants to make items with them I don't see why they wouldn't swap for yardage. They would have to purchase a lot of fabric they probably don't need to get the number of selvedges for some projects.

It takes a ton. It took me 45 - 18 inch selvedges to make a piece 17x17.

I learned to save and read selvages from Chele, our doll quilt hostess. Now I make her a doll quilt with selvages every month.
It's a great, creative challenge!

for October
