My Father-in-law gave me one like this, and mine has a key , so I assume that yours has to have one also. Once you open it , hopefully you will be in for a plesant surprise as I was.

Wow, that was an exciting read. I was going to suggest that you contact NCIS or CSI for assistance, but what a find! Yes there are some wonderful machines out there, but my first was a Singer with a foot treadle and it was the most amazing machine ever.

I have the same one and it does require a special key. I would try contacting singer and see if they have a key to purchase.

OMG Don't let DH even close to it. This could have some value unknown. Take it to a locksmith. He can get it open easy and make you a key. BE sure to let us see the inside!!

I asked here on the board a few months ago with the same kind of machine! Us a little screw driver, it worked so fast and easy!! Hurry! I know it will work. I want to see inside!

The case is heavy so I know there is a machine in there! But I have no idea how to open the case!! Any suggestions? DH wants to break up the box ( over my dead body!) So while he's at work please help me!!

Thank you!

Best Advice is to go to a locksmith and have him make you a key for this.
