I call it the Tessellating Flower, gave it the name My Flower Garden when I choose to make it multi-colored. Original pattern was probably a pinwheel, I adapted this from it maybe 10 years ago, or maybe there was a pinwheel block like this....too long ago for me to remember.

I'm in the process of making the pattern now to be sold at the shop where I'm going to be teaching the table runner and place mats. I haven't made a multicolor pattern of it, since I'm teaching it as a beginners class...and using more than two colors is a bit tricky.
