I have a grandson who is to taken with trains, I want to make a train quilt. But not childish, trains such as diesl, steam trains, box cars. Does anyone know where I could purchase this kind of fabric. Our family worked for Long Island railroad and he has the bug. He wears his Great grandfathers conductors hat and watches these trains on computer all the time. AJ is 5., and I really would love to surprize him with a train quilt. Thank you.

Thank you for looking, a computer person not to good at. Close but not exactly what I've got in my mind. And you know that could be a problem seeing it in your head and finding it.

This site specializes in train fabrics.

http://www.trainfabrics.com/storenam...pt-171863.aspx

If you are not comfortable ordering from them, you can use the site to find the name of fabrics you like then search for them.

There was a line of steam train fabrics made from Currier and Ives prints that came out a year or so ago. It is getting harder to find but it is realistic and has several coordinating prints.

I just bought some train fab yesterday at Olde City Quilts in Burlington NJ. It's a great shop with friendly staff.

I have some of the Currier and Ives fabric, (3 different ones). Maybe we can trade or something. I doubt I will use it all anytime soon. It's very nice quality fabric as well as pretty design.
