My mother-in-law had given me a Singer machine just like this one and believe me, it is a wonderful machine. Sometimes I wish I still had it. Very easy to use.

My grandma bought her's in '63 also..I have payment coupon and all her receipts for payment. She kept everything together. She made notes on stuff, but it's written in Spanish, so I'll have to translate it to figure out what she was writing.

I think I'll name it after my grandma too, in honor of her. 1963 was the year I was born...so that's extra special for me.
My oldest daughter was born in 1963. Her birthday is on the 10 of this month (10-10-63) I bought a 404 in 62 to sew my layette. I used the pattern my mom used for my baby sister's layette in 1953.

That's the type of machine I learned to sew on.
