I have RLS now and then, not a chronic problem. I would suspect that it is multicausal - which is why some have pain, some respond to some things and others do not. I appreciate the tips. I know the potassium was helping me, but then I was getting just plain cramps all the time!
Great rug! Can't have rugs here due to tripping hazard (for me). I cut up flannel sheets for cleaning cloths and rags. However, for regular sheets, when the bottoms wear out, I use extra tops to make sheets for the twin bed and the rolloway bed (a twin bed). Have never bought new sheets for either. It's pretty easy to covert a top sheet into a fitted bottom on a smaller bed.

So, I keep 2-3 bars near my legs just in case one falls off. I'm sure someone will one day figure how why this works. I sure would like to know.
But, I have to say, it makes me wonder just who in the world thought about doing this in the first place. It is just plain weird! But, I don't mind...it helps!

Here is what my research has turned up about the RLS. All of us seem to have the same problem. All of us do the same thing. We all sit for hours sewing. I am guessing that it's the circulation in our legs that is not getting enough oxygen because of the sitting. This is a good example of a blind study.
I would suggest getting a timer and set it to get up every 20 minutes. Walk to the iron, get up to cut etc.

About the sheet rug. It is really lovely. I once made a fabric rug but the little pieces that stuck out annoyed me to no ends. I don't seem to see any fraying on yours. What do you do to avoid that?

Wow! I am so surprised how many are suffering from RLS. I don't have it near as bad as some of you. Thanks to you all for your tips. I will try the bar of soap thing. If it gets bad enough to try a pill, then I will keep these suggestions in mind. I wish the best to all you sufferers of this.
