I have an "older" Janome and a 6600. I use it for piecing and am just working slowly with it for quilting.

I've thought about this but how would I sew in the dark? Ours usually goes out at night. :)

I have 11 and just bought a new Janome 6600 today...she joins seven Singers of various ages, the oldest being a dame from 1907;as well as a Bernina 1008, a Husqvarna/Viking Platinum, a Baby Lock serger and the queen of the house, my Gammill Premier Plus. Wouldn't take anything for any of them...what's that? You know where there's another old babe who needs a home? Call me!!!

open it up and check on the inside....actually when you clean the lint out of under the presser foot plate check for printing on the underside of the plate

I think I have 30, but a dozen of them are toys or toy-sized. One Bernina Artista, singer 15, 20, 66, 99, 101, 127, 128, 201 (2 of these, both in Queen Anne cabinets with benches, 221 (4 of those-Featherweights), 301 (3 of those, 2 in cabinets and 1 in the trapezoidal case), 319, 401 and 503 (the 501 keeps eluding me)and a Genie. Then there's the Grasshopper (Elna) and a Sears model in brown with a godzilla finish that came in a great rock maple cabinet circa 1940! Also have a redeye in a simple oak parlor cabinet and 2 other treadles plus a hand crank machine that was once in a treadle cabinet. I stopped buying machines long ago, when I couldn't find room for another! I use them as end tables, desks, and the maple one holds up my microwave in the kitchen!

I have a new 830 Bernina with the embroidery abilities, an older 930 bernina , a 334DS Bernina surger, 3 dometop singers,a singer 221 replica , A Janome 600 and a older singer treadle, my husband put the belt on it today , he refinished it for me last winter. It is a focal point as you come into my living room,I use the 830 every day, the 930 for certain things when I am using the 830 for embroidery, and the dometops are all on display now on my potshelves, the Janome and the replica are for classes, I can't even lift the 830 Bernina , it is so heavy and has to stay in one place. I feel so blessed,
