It says the pesticides were ON the apple so if you wash the apple well you should be OK.

I just heard on TV the other day that 'they' keep apples up to one year and continually spray them with preservatives til gone.

They make a veg/fruit spray you can buy but if you look at the ingredients, it's just water, soap and alcohol-make your own!

Well, I'll tell you that I'd rather have a little sprayed pesticide in my apples than the systemic pesticides that have been banned in many European countries. These poisons are likely responsible for the loss of our bees. The safety testing is a joke. Washing and peeling apples will not eliminate systemic pesticides as it is part of the apple as it grows. That's how it works. The really sad thing is that this stuff does NOT reduce the amount of crop loss from doing nothing at all!? Yes, some, but not all, apple growers also use systemic pesticides.

Ditto, I do the same.

I don't believe it. Use a good vegetable wash.

Did you notice canteloupe on the safe list? Can't believe everything you read or hear. Have you read about the recent canteloupe related deaths????? Will not be swayed by the information on this site -- or any other.

If you read to the end of the article it says that they WERE washed and peeled! The pesticides were IN the fruit! That's the part that scared me
