Just read the last post prior to mine - our town has smoke free bowling alleys - yahoo! Makes it so much nicer for those of us who don't smoke!

Where abouts are you in Michigan? As you can see I am in Chelsea. Started bowling when I was in junior high, had to take two years off (2005 and 2006) due to a knee replacement on my left (sliding leg) knee. when I realized I couldn't bowl, cried for a few days. It's been over 30 years now and I bowl every week on a league with my friends and then every other sunday with my DH on a mixed league. Average in the 180's, not bad for a "older" person, LOL!! :)

When my oldest started Kindergarten, I joined a neighborhood league only because it offered FREE babysitting. Found that it gave me the opportunity to see certain friends on a more weekly basis. Then it turned out that, right after, my friend and I would head to her house and quilt together!! Good times, good times!!

My mother is still bowling - will be 89 next month. Every Monday night during league season for at least 60 years. 2 artificial knees - cortisone shots in her shoulder - a ball that is lbs lighter than she used to bowl with - but she is there.

I grew up in New England, where bowling means candlepins.

We have one two story alley...the smoking is downstairs, the non-smoking upstairs! Yeah, that really helps! Duh.

My son bowls on a league every Saturday morning, they all stink but have lots of fun. Once in a while we do a family bowl, and his friends love to do a late night "glow bowl" where they turn the lights down and have lighs along the alley.
