Haven't seen any for a week or so. Not sure if they're confused by the weather as it's back up to almost 80 degrees here for the next few days. Every time I see one I get excited like the first time. I think I only saw purple ones this year.
I read about their migration and it certainly is amazing! I wish I could see the Oriole again. He was (I assume it was the male) SO colorful!!

We saw one tonight (10/8). It looked so small, must be a baby.

We still have ours and in addition to the feeders, they really like blue salvia.... next year we are going to plant more of it.

Have you ever seen the Buff-Bellied Hummingbird? It is a breed that stays year round at the Texas coast, mainly Corpus Christi area from have seen in bird books but has spread out over the past few years along the coast line.

We still have a female or two coming to our feeder out at the cabin in northern Gillespie County, about 5 miles from Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. But as far as here in Austin, I have not seen a one since summer. Nearby Dripping Springs word was that they have been gone for about 2 weeks now.

My last one left on September 28th. I used over 35 lbs. of sugar this year. A record for me. It was such a joy watching them all summer long.

We had a lot during the summer. Right now, there's one that's still hanging around the feeder. I would have thought they would all be heading south by now!
