Yes I would. For the cause and a shot at that quilt.

You said it, if I really loved a quilt and supported the cause, then I would. If I didn't love it or the cause was not close to my heart, then no I wouldn't.

You know your area better than we do and have an idea what the market will bear for raffle tickets for a a raffle of this type. You don't want to price yourself out of the market and the goal is to sell the most tickets at a fair price. Would 1/$3 or 3/$7.00 be too cheap for you goal? Educate your buyers so they realize the benefit they are helping support and that your quilt is made of LQS quality fabric and if it's LAQ be sure to give the quilter credit for her contibution. Being from New England originally I know VT has many quilting groups that rafflfe quilts and many people will compare your quilt to those that these groups have raffled previously. I hope I've been of some help to you in making your decision. I hope you'll share the finished quilt with us before the raffle. I wish you and your daughter the best with the project and the fund raising.[/quote]

Minor detail, but I'm thinking keeping the cost at the same level as money is printed. Whatever you charge, make it round out to a dollar bill, a five dollar bill or a ten dollar bill.

I'll pull out a $20 if I know I'm getting a five and a ten back. Forget the excess ones.

That would be out of my range. I would go 1.00 or 2.00 each or 6/5 then I would get 5 tickets.
Several people are out of work and would like to donate something but that can be high for some.
There were some kids from school last year selling book for 20.00 it shocked me! I made a cash donation to them.

Absolutely!!!!! As a long arm quilter I know and appreciate the work and cost that go into MANY quilts and think it's a shame that most raffle quilt tickets are priced so cheaply! Really come on!!!! $5 for 1 ticket for a handmade quilt!!!! It only takes one to win and there's lots more than $5 worth of fabric (even the cheap stuff in a quilt!)

I recently put a quilt in a raffle for my church and the tickets were $1 each or 6 for $5 and I made $850 in three months time!
