Me too, but it could be because of the prices! ;)

(a little levity)
me three, JoAnns and Michaels but i always blame it on the candles and the artifical flowers ;) oh and tearing fabric should be done outdoors

It could be the sizing on the fabric. I have the same reaction sometimes

Yes, I took my grandson with me to a couple of quilt shops while I had him this summer. He would sneeze his little head off until we got out of the stores. Poor baby!! Guess he won't be my quilting buddy.

It is the fabric dyes that causes your congestion.

It seems Joann's is the worst. I think it may be a combination of the fabrics all the other stuff they carry and what they clean the floors with. I stuff up and sneeze now,as I have gotten older, never did before but they were cleaning their floor one day and it was so bad I saw a mom with a kid in a stroller and told her to be careful.
I am wondering why soooo many people have so many allergies today? Perfumes never use to bother people neither did fabrics or clothes or even pets not as much as today.

I teach at a quilt shop and sometimes I get congested when I'm there. I thik it's some of the chemicals that they treat the fabric with.

Wear a "mask" when you go shopping. Get over being self-conscious, I see them all the time and wear one myself.
Wash the fabric as soon as you get it home.
I also have a good vent fan in my quilt room at home. That's great when I spray baste.
