The gun sleeves work great for transporting but offer no protection against bumping or banging the guns. I use mine just to protect the finish of the guns in their hard cases and I do not store the guns in the sleeves. I'm afraid that there might be some moisture to cause rust.

Hey Don, Welcome from a Texan now planted in Southern California. I have to tell you that when I was growing up on the ranch, my grandaddy used to wrap his guns up in pieces of old quilts and put them behind the seat of his Ford pick up. Grandmother finally made up some "gun envelopes" that's what grandaddy called them. I have not thought about this in forever! Thanks for bringing back that memory for me.
