I absolutely LOVE this story...and it brings to home the fact that so many people jump on the "I am a quilter" band wagon that have NO clue about the facst/rules of working with fabric!
AND those of us that have been working with fabric/sewing, crafting, etc for many years, often forget that some are total virgins/newbies when they take their first quilt class...
I firmly believe that ALL beginner quilting classes should not be about making a quilt at all..but instead about learning the machine, learning about the different fabric, learning to read patterns, learning about threads, needles, etc...and then, when the FACTS/rules are explained, and one firmly understands them, they can proceed with making a quilt...for then they will truly understand what it means to make a QUILT and not just sew up a blanket!

Love your story. Can't remember when I learned right and wrong sides since I have been sewing for almost 60 yrs. I suspect one of my 4H leaders taught me. I still have a problem with the wording on some patterns until the light bulb goes on!!! LOL
