Never met a pudding I didn't like, but tapioca is probably #1 while still warm. My Mom used to make a killer rice pudding. Took a cruise on Holland America and for all the wonderful fancy desserts and pastries, their bread pudding with warm vanilla sauce was heaven on earth. My Gram made a wonderful egg custard. Talk about comfort foods...

Someone requested a recipe for bread pudding and rice pudding. I will put these in the recipe thread under the same name. These are not real recipes but the way we made them in Belize and they were to die for. We just throw it together.

I was going to say chocolate with banana as a close second, but then someone said butterscotch, and that might be my top favorite. I just don't see or get it very much, and I've never learned how to make pudding from scratch.

I grew up really poor, didn't realize it then, but we were poor ! IF we ever had a dessert and it would be on a Sunday we would have pudding, made from scratch with canned evaporated milk....to this day I can't eat pudding. When I went to live with foster parents I thought they were really really rich because we had dessert each night, nothing fancy mind you, and we always had iced tea to drink.

When I grew up and had my own family we would have some kind of dessert each night I would make pudding because my family loved it but I just can't do it. Also, and now, many years later you will always find a pitcher of tea in my fridge !

Now bread pudding with a rich sauce will sometimes get my attention.
