Did you know it is Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern? very appropriate. And special to have your dress fabrics in it!

It's beautiful! and don't yea know that's how we learn by trail and errors? But no one will ever really know the mistakes unless you tell them.

It is absolutely beautiful. The fact that your Grandmother started it and you used your DD's dresses to finish it, makes it a true heirloom. Congratulations.

I think the quilt is great. Kudos also for finishing it even after you ran into the problem. Sometimes it is so hard to want to finish something when you run into those sorts of problems.

What a wonderful thing you did, finishing Grandma's quilt. I can only imagine the frustration you had when you realized what was happening. This si always a learning lesson, trying to figure out how to fix it. I think it came out beautiful, and I bet Grandma is looking down on you with a big smile on her face. Even encouraging you to finish it. Jan

I think the story makes it that much more special.
I suppose I have a similar story, when my great grandmother passed, all I wanted was a quilt, I got quilt pieces, and circles - my first thought was how do you sew circles together. (they are dresden plates) So I decided to learn how to quilt so I can put it together and do it justice. (I still haven't attempted it)
