My favorite is Diana Gabledon. She will be releasing her 9th (?) book in a series (since 1991) Great read, time travel, romance, history and yes some sex. Actually I am re-reading all of them, waiting for the next installment.

Brock and Bodie Thoene have written a couple of series that are good historical fiction if you like that genre.

From someone who reads almost anything, would help to know what your interests in reading are. Something I loved may end up on your hate list. Recently though, I have been reading some of the old stuff like Gone With the Wind and Grapes of Wrath. I loved Water for Elephants and The Help and The Mercy of Thin Air.

I love mystery and suspense - however, for a good read - a great story try anything by Maeve Binchey - I'm reading her latest "Minding Frankie" and it is wonderful.

I just finished a book titled "Left Neglected" that I would recommend highly. It's about a young mother who suffers a form of brain damage that makes it impossible for her to recognize "left". Inspiring, very readable, interesting subject matter. Was written by a brain specialist but it's fiction and an easy read.

I read a variety of books but I loved Sarah's Key, I finished The Story of Edgar Sawtelle last night. Nora Roberts, is an easy read, anything but Stephen King novels I guess.
