the around the world looks wonderful! use white to sash a lot of squares. i love white and scrappy look. or you could use them for centers as in this black/white quilt, but that won't use up many. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-146955-1.htm

There's some absolutely beautiful patterns using scraps made into HSTs or QSTs.
Take a look at Quiltville and I'm sure you'll find LOTS and LOTS of ideas, so you never have to make the same pattern twice. And soon you;ll be saying, gosh darn, I need more squares!

All of you have such good ideas. I'll check out quiltville again. I've been there before, and even done some of hers.
I'm not "into pinwheels" but half square triangles definitely add to possibilities.
Bargellos or using shades is an interesting idea. I've having the kids sort the colors today, but I kind of sent them out to paint the house. :) (no kidding)...
