I use mine all the time when I'm sewing on small blocks. I can sit it on my sewing table and iron while I watch tv.

I own one...because I don't want to go HUNTING for one on that rare occasion I might NEED ONE.

It just sits in the back of my closet in the sewing room.

I can't think of a reason to use it in quilting either...but I have one, and do find a need to use it now and again. I am always really thankful when I need it, I have it...so I don't think I will ever get rid of it.

Before I retired my job required travel. I would take my sewing machine, my travel iron, and that little ironing board. I used it a lot. Last time we moved, a container fell off the trailer and it must have been in it since I've never found it. Looked into buying a new one; it was $40 plus shipping so I decided I would have to live without it. Should I ever see one at a garage sale or flea market I will snatch it up.

I have the collapsible one and it's covered in the same covering as the Steady Betty! I bought it years ago from a mens tailoring shop that was going out of business. Also several sizes of hams, a nap board, and a great wooden clapper. I use the clapper in quilting to flatten seams. Everything fits on the rack underneath my ironing board so they are handy if I need to use them.

I have one that i got from my grandma. I used to use it to make clothes. Now i use it a lot when I paper piece. Nice to set next to me on my sewing table for ironing all those seams. Not what I would consider a necessary tool but something that is nice to have.

I haven't used my in years. The other week I was doing something I thought I could use the little board, but of course I couldn't fine it. I'll come across it one of these days.
