You are so fortunate to be able to buy at such a great price. Here they are usually $2 and $3 a piece at the GW and Salvation army. Absolutley beautiful quilt you have made and the embellishment of the cords and braids adds so much.

I have a friend who had someone make a quilt out of her husband's ties after he passed away. I really like how the ends made for this very lovely quilt. I saw two quilts at the Pacific International Quilt Festival made from ties. Thanks for sharing.

What a neat idea! I have a purse made out of neckties (the front portion) and would love to make one but cannot find a pattern. I've googled everything & got no where. Anyone have any ideas? I sure get the compliments when I carry it and have been collecting ties forever!!

Beautiful !!! I have started collecting ties to make a quilt also, now have 66 and I'm wondering if you kept track of how many you used??? My goal is 100 and I have to tell you that the lowest price I've found is 99 cents, I've even paid $6 for Gerry Garcia ones. It really can be an expensive project.
Congrats, Kutnso

P.S. Forgot to ask, what did you do with the other part of the ties???

Great idea! I am going to try that. I have quite a few old ties since both my husband and my son in law wear ties to work. I've been wanting to do something with them and now I know at least one of the ways I can use them. What do you do with the front, wider end of the tie?
