It's just beautiful, love the brightness of the colors and your FMQ design looks very nice.
Yes, that helps, do you start in the center and how do you mark your design on the quilt top.
Do you drop your feed dog? I tried that and it seemed to do better with them left up.
I also put my stitch regulator at the lowest position, but I'm am just learning to regulate speed (knee lever) and work my hands to make designs. I'm working on a quilt sandwich, but can't imagine how it will be to work a design on the whole quilt top.
It still would be nice to see how the process works on the 301. I've watched other tutorials but the machines are different. Thank you for all the detail you provided

I'm learning, it is a slow process trying to learn all the basics.

I use a Singer 15-91 with a vintage Pfaff foot that I found one day in a sewing machine drawer. It fits it perfectly, it was meant for darning I guess. I also have an old industrial 31-15 Singer that I use if its a really big quilt but its loud and it makes me nervous, I purchased a zuki industrial fm foot for it and I keep it from vibrating loose with a dolop of JB Weld. The 15-91 is my favorite, don't know what it would be like to have a fancy quilting sewing machine...

The Viking S. does a great FM, never have to mess with tension. It is 9 inch harp. I have had it 3 yrs. I just purchased a Bailey 13 for frame quilting and love it too.

I use the Singer 15! It is my favorite for FMQ! So much so, that I bought another one for a back up! Don't tell my DH, but if I see another one, I might get it for a pair and a spare!

I use a Janome 6500. I'm new to FMQ, but what I've done so far has turned out very nicely.

I have a Pfaff 7570 that fmq's beautifully and a Singer Slant 403A.

Because I love my Pfaff and it's difficult to get parts for it (these are no longer made in Germany - Pfaff sold out) I just purchased from Ebay the Singer 403A as a backup. The Singer runs like a top and has a little larger harp than my Pfaff 7570. The Singer also does beautiful FMQ so I will use it for quilting, taking some of the workload off my Pfaff.

Brother Nouvelle 1500s is my best one. High harp and 9" from neck to needle, with a nice flat bed with two extension tables.
