The local Humane Society (not ASPCA) here gives vouchers for cat 'fixing' that cost the owner only $10 for the operation. Vaccines and other well being isn't covered. Check with the local chapter in your area. The Humane Society is all volunteer and every dollar is used for the animals. The ASPCA gives .10 per dollar donated to help the local chapters. The ASPCA exective's cost and salaries take most of the donation money. There was a big write up about this not long ago, how corrupt the ASPCA was.

I live in a city to have my dog spayed was going to be almostm 400 I was visiting family was in a small town got dog spayed all shots and a tooth pulled for 140 check out a nearby small town

There is a special program in our area; I got my little american eskimo done and just paid for shots and a heart worm test. My son's Akita is nexted; couldn't do it before since he'd just had surgery. His will also cost me around 30 since he needs shots but the surgery is free. I'm so happy we had this program. Having a 20lb female and a 100lb male made it really bad when she went in heat.

I adopted my kitty from a rescue group. She was spayed and had her shots and I only paid $70 for the adoption. She's been worth every penny of it!

The Animal Birth Control Clinic here does low cost neuters for $25 & now have a program for senior citizens that catch ferals & bring in done for free. Do require Rabies shot, but it runs around $10-$15.

It would be cheaper for you to fly it down here have it done & fly it back than doing it there!

Check into a low cost clinic somewhere close, most big cities have them.

GOOD GRIEF! I have all my cats and dogs fixed - male and female and none has ever cost that much including all shots! shop around, call vets - even if you have to put your animal in a carrier and drive to a small town its way cheaper. We pay between 45 and 60 for cats and more for dogs, but it is an absolute for me. We have a lot of strays come into our lives and we can usually place some in good homes if theyre fixed, plus, they are just nicer, calmer, less territorial that way sharet

Yes, check with your local Cat Rescue Group. Some have programs funded by the county. Ours cost 30.00 per cat. This included: Rabies Shot
Distemp.
Neut/Spay
AND Micro-chipped

(We also gave a donation, too.) But, this is for only ferral cats...(Barn Cats).
Our House Cats rec'd 50.00 discount per cat.

again, consider the pet. when i took my mama cat to Planned Pethood it was the most busy noisy place i'd ever been to. Children running all around and screaming. she was frightened out of her skin. I would pay to have more of a peaceful place to care for my pet in future. money or no money.

I do dog rescue and can usually get it done for under $50. We have clinics here that basically just do neutering. Ask around and you'll find it cheaper, I'm sure.....you can even just google your state plus "neutering a cat" and should come up with some great places and ways to do it MUCH less expensively.
