I am older than dirt!!! I turned 53 on 10/30. My grandson hugged me and said Happy 60th birthday mamaw. I told him I was only 53. He said papaw said 60 and papaw never lies! I told him that papaw just told a big fat one. lol

Care to get even more older than dirt?
What about taking the left handed sugar bowl out to dump after a busy night - under the bed?
Or using the outdoor privy only? no bathrooms in the house.
Or using horses to do the field work?
How about playing carom by kerosene lamps?
How about making wood all winter long, so it dried over summer so you'd have wood for the old cook stove, or heater in the livingroom?
Or using coal in the then "modern" furnaces?
And carrying water to the house from teh outside well?
How about heating water on top of the stove to wash clothes or take teh Saturday night baths in the old washtub?
and the list could go on.................
THOSE WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS - IN SPITE OF THE HARD WORK THAT WENT WITH MOST OF IT.

I went to the court house hoping to find a map of the county from about 1943. The "girl" said 'I don't think we have anything in this office, but I have a map over here on the wall that is older than dirt." The date on that map was....1966!!!! I went home..told the husband the story and I can now say that he is older than dirt..that is his birth year. LOL

I didn't know anyone remembered those funny colored TV screens except me. Mother ordered one from a magazine one time. She considered it a total waste of money.

How about felt circle poodle skirts?
Butch wax?
A colored screen (blue at the top, green at the bottom, clear in the middle) to put in front of the black and white tv screen?
Tooth powder?
Hard cake mascara that you needed to moisten and make a paste then rub a brush in it?

I count 12! what about rotary phone dials? and bubble gum cigars? We keep a rotary phone to use when the electricity goes out. My DD's friend was over and needed to use the phone...she didn't know what to do with it!...no buttons to push!
