I'm a newbie here! I have a FW that I bought off Ebay a number of years ago. I am having trouble with the thread breaking. I guess maybe I need to take her to a shop. If anyone has any idea of my problem, I would love to hear it. Thanks!

I'm looking for a centennial since my birthyear is 1951, yes, I'm going to be 60 in a few weeks, ouch. Would also love to have a 222 but so far they're out of my price range.
I just purchased a 51 with the little name plate missing.. I am very happy with her. I am however looking for a 48 as its the year I was born. I just think its so exciting to use a machine that is 60 years old. If it could only tell you what it has been through.

I first started my love affair at the NQA show in Charleston, West Virginia, in 1994. Got a 58 FW in a case for $415.00 and my friend got one also for $425 her's was older. Then I started "little black machines that weighted about 10 lbs." Had to go back the next day for it ($250. we were camping at the time) Next one was at a yard sale for $25.00 in WV. My 4th one was in Malbar, Fl. Did the same thing, asked if they had a small black machine that weighted about 10lbs. Got it for $200. Told my son what to look for and all about them and in the summer when he rode his motorcycle to a big flea market in the southern part of Fl. He found me another one for $175.00. Now I have my daughter wanting one and so we are on the hunt once again. Good luck to you and just keep looking and asking and I am sure you will find one too. Leepat

My Featherweight is in the mail right now. I won her on EBay for 199.00. I'm not sure of her condition, the photo looked ok. I think I can get it serviced locally if need be. Thinking about a 222 now. Whats the difference. Also what is a 301?

Can I join too. I bought "Erma Lee" in August off E-Bay..I named her Erma Lee after my mother...There is 10 of us in my family and of course mother shopped at the Goodwill..Everytime she saw a sewing machine, if she had extra money she would buy it...us older girls laugh about it all the time. So thats why her name is Erma Lee...Here's a little secret, my older sister Lee, is just like mama. she's always looking and buy machines. too LOL

Forgot to say that Erma Lee was born in 1941 and that she is a 221, also got a case and attachments with her. Will try to post a picture of her, when I figure out to post a picture, with this new thread..
