My wonderful hubby bought me not only one - but two. 2 years ago for our anniversary, he found me a black featherweight. The manufacturing date is the same day as our anniversary - Nov. 22 but the year on Betty (named for her birthplace - Elizabeth, NJ) 1946. A few months ago, I came home from a day out and found a beautiful white featherweight sitting on the counter. She was a birthday present. My wonderful but misinformed husband then asked since I now had a white one, was I going to sell the black one. When I stopped laughing, I realized his sense of humor is as great as his gift giving abilities.

I've got a sweet little black 1938 FW that my MIL gave me about 10 years ago. I just started using it a couple months ago and now don't think I'll ever piece on my new machine again (even after it does come home from the repair shop). I absolutely love, love, love my FW! I am looking to get a 1/4 foot for it though, right now I'm using one of those heavy duty magnetic seam guides to mark my 1/4".

My new lady, Lucky Lady, 1950
Lucky lady has started life as little stinker. My DH bought it at a gun and knife auction last week. She has been airing outside and yesterday my DH tuned her up. She works very quietly and her stitches are exact. The odor of the box is kinda like an oil smell. (I am used to eau de gun oil). She joins her sisters, Old Gold (goldie) from the 1930's, Little Wonder from the 1940's, LB (little baby, my first one) a centennial, and Sexy from the sixties. LB is visiting my DD (I don't think she will be returning soon). Here she is!!!
