I have done some applique, but not a great deal. I want to one day learn reverse applique. I love using steam a seam 2 as opposed to needle turn, then either hand or machine blanket stitch after it is attached.

Let It Snow
I also do mostly raw edge applique. I finished my latest project today. This one took me a few days because of the checkerboard border. That and because I only worked about an hour each day. But it was a fun project after doing all the larger quilts I've been doing. I also have a memory wall hanging for my grandson that should be finished next week.

I will be watching this topic...I have never appliqued before but I soon will be starting a project that the center is applique and I will be doing the old timeeeee way of needle turn...I feel it is important to start at the beginning of applique and adapt to the technique I like best.

Craftybear: I started a hand appliquie quilt a long time ago. Probably about 10 years ago. This make me want to pull it out and finish. When I started, did not know much about it....probably still don't, but I'm one of those who will try it. I enjoy hand quilting...it is relaxing......

Applique"
I love to applique'. Most of my quilts are applique'. I do all mine by machine. I use either a satin stitch or a blanket stitch, depending on the pattern. I have sold most of my appliqued quilts but I do still have 2 that I recently finished and am entering in a local quilt show next weekend.
The dogs I have finished now and gotten all the eyes and noses and embellishments on and have it quilted. I have also gotten the Woodland Creatures quilted and bound since this pic was taken.

Also recently did some place mats with sold before I finished them...I'll have to make another set for my table now! LOL I saw a pic of a wall hanging with the blue bonnets and decided this would be easy enough to convert to placemats, so I drew out my pattern on a graph paper pad and went to it!
