I carry the new foot controllers at my website www.thequiltgal.com then look under Online Store, and then Singer 221 replacement parts. Was it cracked so the screws would not hold it together? If the foot controller is repairable, you can purchase just the replacement cord, but sounds like it may not be. If you could PM me a photo of your foot controller, it would be easier for me to tell.

don't get in a big hurry to replace it. it may be very fixable. join vintage Singers group in the Yahoo Groups. they have
all kinds of files with good information. they are easy to replace, but you might not need that expense. might even
try Googling "how do I fix my Singer 221 foot controller". smitty

If you are closer to Florida there is a very good repair man who goes to a lot of shows his website is The Old Sewing Machine MAN.com and I know he can help you.
