When I am working on a project it stays out til it's done but right now am doing two so this is a little much. Will have to put one away so there is a little room. Just not enough hours in the day.

I live in an old motorhome with no pull outs. When my sewing machine is out, it stops the traffic flow. My counter space where I cut my patterns is a folding metal cover for my stovetop. Therefore, I find myself setting up & putting it all away again several times a day & my machine is put up & taken down each time I want to use it, the stove or to eat.

I try to put things away that I'm finished with as soon as I'm finished with them. (Doesn't always happen and then I ended up knocking them to floor). It's a habit that I'm really have to develop. I have a very nice sewing room and new Koala
table and the room has a lot of things in there.
But I do clean up and put away after each project. Just so I can find things when I need them. It just makes things so much better.
Hugs and keep up the good work!

I try to put things either away or leave things kind of organized so when I go back I don't have to clean before I sew. since my table to cut has to much on it I usually use the kitchen table to cut big things and then go back to what share of the rm I have for sewing. It's hard to keep everything just so. We have to remember we're working/creating so don't worry to much.

I switch from one extreme to the other. I like to work on several quilts at the same time, so my little room soon develops piles of fabric, blocks, strips, etc everywhere. When it gets so cluttered I can't stand it, I organize everything and put all the projects into clear plastic bags. BUT, then I can't figure out what to do next, so I start pulling it all back out again. What a cycle!

At times my whole house gets cluttered, but I'm lucky my DH doesn't mind. But, it eventually gets to me and I have to straighten and clean up everything, then I feel comfortable going back to my sewing.
