here's my own routine for sifting out the newest things. it isn't "one-click" but it does narrow things down quite a bit. it takes about 3 seconds, tops:

Go to What's New
Click on "Mark Forums Read"
Click again on What's New

It will give you the following "error" message:

Sorry, there are no new posts to view.

You may search for posts updated during the previous 24 hours, here

Click on the word "here" and you will see a list of things posted only during the previous 24 hours.

Well, of course, the ultimate answer is "It doesn't matter what we like. The new board is here to stay. I have seen a few changes, mostly to members who got into the mobile mode by mistake, but otherwise, the board has stayed as designed. I'm sure it is generating profit." While the moderators may read the posts for reasons other than censoring, they aren't the board owners, only employees. I think the web designers have come and gone so our complaining is useless about major changes."

Yes, It worked for me, page was too wide for my screen and I had to scroll back and forth to see the whole message.
I Pressed Control and the minus sign - and I like the new screen. May in Jersey

Unhappy Loved the Old format!

I don't have a lot of time to spend digging through all the post from days ago. The link would appear in my inbox and I would look through it and go on. There are days when I am not able to do even that, and by the time I do it is all the same stuff.
Please go back to the old post or give us a choice in the matter. Otherwise I don't see myself checking in here much at all.
This is just my view point.

Try checking your "Zoom Level" on your computer. It should read "100%". That might be what's causing your trouble>

One thing I don't feel especially good about is the caste system for members depending on how many posts they have, i.e. member, junior member, senior member, super member. That is what those labels mean, right? If I am wrong please let me know. The other thing that is hard to deal with is the way the messages on the forum are strung out across the page forever, requiring one to use the cursor to move the page along to the right and back to the left and then to the right and back to the left. Well, you probably get the idea and when it is an especially long thread it can get pretty annoying. Has anyone else found this to be the case? Would love some feedback on these issues. Thanks in advance, KitsyKeel

However, that format was less 'mouse' intensive and I really liked that. That's probably what i miss most, as using the mouse so much irritates the fibromyalgia/tendonitis in my arms and hands. Oh, well.
The new format , i think stinks. You can,t find anything any more. It was much better with the old one. Everything was in order and now it,s messed up
