    Yeppers!

Sunlight, and it didn't take long, to warp the mat, ask me how I know? So quilters who love to have their sewing room with windows near where the cutting mat is beware of direct sunlight streaming in on your cutting table/mat! :0)

But all was not lost, kind of, :0) The warped mat was re-purposed by cutting it into smaller mats. Lesson learned.

Thank-you for directions on how to clean with proper water temperature!

I was just wondering about this because I cut some fleece and some of the fur got stuck in the mat where the blade sliced it. Thanks for the information.

At the Houston Quilt Festival the Olfa distributor told us about the cleaning and said that if you visit their website they have a resolution for getting a mat to lay flat again. I haven't looked to date. Maybe this will help you.

After I wash my cutting mat, I use a skirt hanger (the kind with rubber coated clips) to hang it up to dry in the bathtub.

A self healing mat needs to be hydrated about once a year. I soak mine in the bathtub over night and wipe dry. It makes it like new again. Soap will sink in and dry out the mat so be sure you submerge the mat to get out all the soap if you use soap.
