This is one of my favorites renditions of Amazing Grace. It's ironic that they are singing one of the most popular Christian songs in the Roman Coloseum where Christians were thrown to lions and other beasts because they wouldn't recant their belief in Christ! God is so good and like He said, "Revenge is mine..."

If you get the chance to see the movie/dvd that tells the story of Amazing Grace and the abolition of the slave trade in Britain, there is a good rendition of the tune as well. The movie has Ioan Gruffudd, Benedict Cumberbatch, Albert Finney, and a whole lot of other fine actors performing in it.

I love El Divo, and boy can they sing that song and others, oh and the bag piper always adds such a nice touch, I had never heard of Wintley, but he sure does have a magnificent voice, and I had never heard that story before.
When I was very young I sang in our Church choir, the director made me sing this song on my own, with the rest of the choir as backup. I don't know how I got thru it, When my grandmother passed away I had to sing Amazing Grace at the Church service. Amazing Grace was and still is my favorite.
Thank you for sharing
