We keep talking about it but haven't stopped the gifting yet. What a great relief it would be not to have to mail all the stuff and besides that, since we don't see each other so often it is hard to decide what to buy. I would love to stop the madness but I really don't see it happening though we have really cut back. I plan to suggest for next year we only give gifts we make..I think a "creative Christmas" would be a lot of fun!

You did well today. I never find good stuff at our Goodwill. I'm envious.

What is an electric quilt 5? I hope that you will have a blessed holiday. I hope that your children and grandchildren realize that it is the meaning behind a gift that makes a gift special. I think that all of us should forget about spending money on gifts that are not really wanted or needed, we have all become obsessed with material objects. It is time to stop buying so much junk, and start to concentrate on what really matters, spending quality time together. Or if you live far away how about a phone call. Share your time and love with others who have even less than you.

God sure works in mysterious ways. Merry Christmas to you and your Other half. May next year be better for you.

Even gradkids don't remember you for your expensive gifts. I had one set of wealthy and one set of expremely poor grandparents. I got very nice gifts from the wealthy set, but not personal attention. The other set always gave me a box of chocolate cover cherries. But it was given with a big hug and kisses and to this very day chocolate covered cherries mean Christmas to me. So don't underestimate the understanding of kids. Everyone knows who loves them. And congratulations on your wonderful quilting find.

Have you ever seen or read "How the The Grinch Stole Christmas"? This book has the exact message of - you don't need decorations, special food or presents to have Christmas.
