I always approach this type of issue with the philosophy ..."If it was my business , would I want to know?" and then let that guide my approach with the owner.

Yes, contact the quilt shop. A good shop wants satisfied (aka repeat) customers and will make it right.

My biggest "pet peeve" is that no one is held accountable any more. I would definitely take it back and explain how upset I was when I got home and found that I had purchased defective material. And also that your shop sold it.

If the shop is a distance away, I would e-mail her those photos and explain the situation, I am sure she would appreciate knowing it. It is her reputation.

Definitely tell them! If I was the shop owner, I'd certainly want to know!

I would return it to the shop, she should return it to the manufacture. It is a flawed piece of fabric.

Good to see you Eddie, I've missed seeing your beautiful work.
Yes, I second that! I'd feel that way too if I owned a shop.

Tell them, they cant fix what they don't know about. Sure it wasn't deliberate just something that probably didnt catch the notice of a zoned out employee.

Absolutely agree. If I was the shop owner I would want to know.

I'd let the shop owner know because you're right. Selling fabrics like that as anything other than seconds could ruin their business. Word of mouth can make or break a business. I'd want to know.
