I started mine a few months back but have a ways to go. It's really hard to just work on UFOs and not start something new. LOL

Now let me get this right, WIPs and UFOs; does this include the kits that you have put away for a rainy day? It seems that this next year is going to be really rainy for many of us due to the economy. You really don't need to know how many, I will just post as I get them done. I need to do it this year because the only things I will be purchasing will be the ones from the mystery at my LQS. I will start getting things together after Saturday, our Christmas party for the family so they can spend the rest of the season with the other side of the family, friends and workmates.

    Hi Everyone,
Just got back from taking care of my mom since the middle of November. I have been with her 24/7 all this time. She is still non-weight bearing but a couple of my sisters, and a couple of nieces are going to take care of her this coming week (they finally have some time off) so I could spend time with my family for Christmas. Mom doesn't have internet. I took some UFO's with me but only got one done in the last 6 weeks. I came home with my daughter's family. If I had had to drive that 250 miles I wouldn't have made it.
Scissor Queen your red plaid quilt is very pretty. I have a hard time using plaids. My combinations just don't turn out well.
I wanted to wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas.

Count me in too!! I'm afraid to look too closely at the UFO pile and the odd thing is I think that outside of batting/ maybe thread I have materials on hand to complete but I sure won't be doing it before the end of 2011!!

I'm at mom's again. She is now weight bearing so I'll be able to be home more soon. Taking the weekend off to spend with my daughter's family so am using her computer. I brought along some fabric scraps to work on a couple of on-going scrap quilts. One is all blues (a Kings X) the other is all yellows (a scrappy tulip to be appliqued). I got a total of 20 blocks of the King's X and 8 of the tulips done. I'm working on another quilt for mom's door window. It is almost done. I'll post pictures of the projects I've done the last 3 or 4 months when I get home again.

During the past year I have been doing what you are proposing. My goal was to only buy fabric that I needed to complete a started project. I did pretty good until I signed up for a couple retreats then I had to buy fabric for those projects because I didn't have what I needed to make the project. I will start 2013 with the same goals in mind, toonly buy fabric for unfinished projects and finish ufo's. I have several.

I am working on my butterfly quilt agian...I have it sandwiched, I used 505 on the alpaca batting and it does not stay as well but it is working. I tried some elmers glue on the edge of the border...I hope it washes out..if not I will be cutting down the size of the borders...not thrilled with it...you can see it on the other side of fabric the good side. oh well figured I would try it. I am using furniture fabric backing...is its breaking my thread. aurgh...think I need to try a larger needle. This quilt is very slow going FMQ'ing it. I have to keep my self going....I will take a picture and post. maybe that will help me keep modivated.
