It's been interesting to read what inventions the mother of necessity can create. I too have used many "pointy things", but the emery board is an idea I'm gonna give a try. Thanks for all the good ideas.

I have used the bamboo skewers from the dollar store for a stiletto to do the same thing. It works great, and you get 100 for $1.

Great idea !! thank goodness the light bulb light ..and an idea came out of it ..

It certainly makes sense! They tell you to use fine grain sandpaper to hold fabrics for specific things, like some cutting. An emery board would be just like fine grain sandpaper, just more user friendly for that kind or work. I'm going to dig out my stash of emery boards and put them in my quilting supplies. Thanks for the Great​ Tip!!
