My new Custom Made Sewing desk
#222
That is great! I'm envious. Have you guys thought of writing up the plans, duplicating and seeing if any quilt shops in your area would allow you to have them in their shop to sell? There are even web sites that sell plans (BHG has a wood working magazine site). With the cost of those desks they sell at LQS I'm sure a lot of women's husbands would enjoy doing this desk and saving money! Such a well thought out desk. It's a winner!

We made it with oak and stained it with Early American stain. The spot with the machine was built a little deeper so we made a extra platform form the machine. This way if I ever decide to get a new machine we would only have to make a new platform ( if its taller or shorter) and cut a new piece of lexan for the top.

Heres my new sewing desk that my husband made me for christmas.
Its 6ft long 32" high 30" deep.
The top drawer is a pull out ironing board with storage underneath the board.
The other 3 drawers are 28 inch deep for storage.
It has a little drawer next to the sewing machine for my spools and bobbins.
For the last 2 years I have been sewing on a plastic warped banquet table, so this desk is a welcome upgrade!
I know what I'm doing this weekend (Organizing and Sewing)!!!!!
