List of quilt shops near Augusta GA?
I am planning a trip to visit my best friend in Augusta GA in February to teach a class for her friends and am wondering if anyone can tell me about the local quilt shops in the area?
Thanks!

Hey Sue!!!
I'm not far from Augusta (only 30 minutes). Unfortunately, we really don't have a "quilt shop" per say. We do have Branum's Sewing and Vac which has some wonderful fabrics as well as Jeff's Sewing and Vac. There's a quilt shop in Aiken, SC but I don't know what that name is. Branum's is changing and becoming more of a "normal" quilt shop.
Let me know when you're coming and maybe we can get together to visit!!

Hi Momyar!
Thanks for the info! I am trying to combine business and pleasure by scheduling a class in a shop, if possible, as well as the one I am teaching for my friend and her friends. Right now, I think I will be coming the third week in February and staying 6 days although 2 of them are "travel" days. Do you belong to a guild in the area that might be looking for a workshop? I design paper piecing patterns and love to teach! My designs have been published in 12 different magazines to date including 2 issues of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks from Today's Top Designers. I would love to meet you if we get the chance!

Here is the info for the Aiken quilt shoppe
Aiken Quilt Shoppe
146 Laurens Street SW
Aiken, SC 29801
803-649-7511
Im not in Aiken but have visited this shop a few times. The shop is not huge but they do have a nice selection. The owner is SUPER nice and will help you with anything you might need. She has a classroom in the back and also a "rentable" long arm, so if you are in the market to test your long arm skills thats the place for you. She will give instructions and guide you through the process. I hope to someday soon take a Saturday and give it a whirl. Enjoy your trip!!!
