How about Thinking Outside the Box? It would look great in modern colours and the 3D effect is very modern. It is the one with the 1/4 log cabin blocks. Someone put up the instructions for the quarter block if the're still here? If not I think the pattern is available from www.toadusew.

No suggestions, but I love Terrain and I need to hurry up and buy some pre-cuts.

I am a fan of HSTs. I have made several quilts with this pattern, starting with 9-11" squares, depending on my fabric widths. My friend who made this one used 18" squares. You could do this with 2 fabrics, although I always use 3. The result is quilte striking, I think.

Oops, the picture did not post. I'll post it in pictures

I think yellow brick road works as a modern quilt. I also made on or 12 inch or maybe larger squares set on point with sashing inbetween. It was for my daughter-in-law and she's into modern.

I'd look at modabakeshop.com tons of patterns and they tend to lean towards the modern look. I've also looked at flicker under modernquilts, it could give you some ideas.

If you still need ideas, look at the wall hanging, "Vivid Terrain" at the Etsy shop called "dollsfromtheloft". I too was looking for ideas for an easy quilt that uses Terrain. I love this collection! I made my daughter-in-law a "Tahoe Tote" using the dark blues and aqua prints - stunning!

    Happy Holidays,
