I loved House of Sand and Fog, I read the book first and still enjoyed the movie. I mostly like older movies, haven't been to a theater in 30 years.

"House of sand and fog" is one of my favorites!!

It's a very dark movie, but it's absolutely brilliant. it's one of those movies that I never hear of until we were bored one night and it was the only thing on and WOW - what a POWERFUL movie. I like movies that evoke a lot emotion, and movies that can make you like "bad" people.

Ben Kingsley was phenomenal.

OK. If you like dark genre, and liking "bad" people, I suggest "In Bruges". Again, it's dark, powerful, and emotional. You also see some nice views of Bruges. Collin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Ralph Fiennes. Rated R ... for good reason - just sayin. The ending is ... whoa!!!

I think my favourite movie is Shawshank Redemption. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan is excellent too.

I loved reading The Help so I'd like to see that plus War Horse and Sherlock Holmes but since we have a young one in the house yesterday we watched The Smurfs (it was pretty funny) and tomorrow we'll probably watch Rango. The next ones will be We Bought A Zoo and Chipwrecked.

Two of my favorites are Somewhere in Time, and Pay it Forward. Somewhere in Time is one that I savor. I've seen it countless times, and still get teary eyed every time. I'm also a big Katherine Hepburn fan, so enjoy most anything she's in, and Jimmy Stewart.

Default Do you have a Must-See Movie?

I liked "Pay it Forward" also - it was not a big critically acclaimed movie like some others, and I only saw it once, but it was excellent the way I remember it. I also really liked the Shawshank Redemption.

Just finished the book "War Horse" and it was a GREAT story but I think I'd cry my eyes out if I saw the movie. I cried reading the book!
