I made mine when I was still living in NYC - probably 20 years ago.
If I knew how to scan a picture into my computer I'd show it to you, but I don't.
I don't sew, just make quilts, and only straight lines. I can't even do a zigzag stitch let alone a curve.
This is by way of saying - GO FOR IT - it's a lovely quilt and not at all hard to do - just cut accurately.

Under a Stormy Sea - What a beauty! is there a pattern or did you design it yourself? If your own design, can you post a tute?

I turned my last log cabin quilt into a storm at sea. I'd love to make a real one. Sorry, I won't try to talk you out of it.

SAS doesn't have curves, it just an optical illusion.

NOW I find out you can do Storm at Sea as paper-pieced! At the Houston quilt show in November I bought a laser cut kit from John Flynn's booth for a blue batik SAS, thinking that at least I didn't have to do the cutting! I'm going to tackle it anyway, but thanks for the link to the paper pieced patterns...they are beautiful.

Or better yet, do a tutorial as you are making it! They are so pretty.

The only one I made is about 12" square & is a memory quilt I did from my Dad's ties.
