I find crochet goes faster than knitting, but some things like mittens I like knit better.

I like to crochet better than knitting but like the results of knitting much smoother softer and thinner

I used to crochet a lot. I tried knitting but didn't like the way you had to keep track of the stitches. I could sit and do anything while crocheting without thinking about it. Quilting has now taken over my life!!

I've tried knitting, but didn't fair well!

Thanks!
I love both! Crocheting is done with a hook; knitting is done with 2 or more needles. You can find great tutorials online to teach you step by step, but the key to learning is practice! I can't decide which one I like better, so I usually have at least one project of each going. Don't give up ... the more you learn, the more fun you have!

You use one hook for basic crochet and two needles for knitting. I prefer crochet. It is a nice way to make a lacy fabric. Find someone who can show you the basic stitches as you will be away in no time. Give it a go.

One of my goals this year was to teach myself how to knit. Well, I tried once and the needles are put away next to my MANY crochet hooks! Crochet just seems easier to me because you are only using one "tool" vs. two.

I love to make crochet lace but I enjoy simple knitting in the round for hats and cowels. The both have a meditative rythem.

Crocheting is easier, I love Tunisian crocheting, it is a combination of crocheting and knitting. You can find information on YouTube.
