I saw this vintage quilt at a quilt show and I haven't been able to find the pattern.

It's a variation of a Lemoyne Star. If you take off the extra fins it's a Lemoyne Star.

According to Jinny Beyer's marvelous new book, Quilters Album of Patchwork Patterns, pg.288, #11, this block has several names:
Clara Stone called it Fish in 1906
She also called it Whirligig in 1906
Later it was also called Airplane Motif, Fish Quilt, Fish Block, Dove in the Window, Goldfish, Trout and Bass Block

In have a book called 101 Patchwork Patterns by Ruby McKim, the pattern is in that book. First published in 1962, but may still be available on ebay or amazon. Lots of other traditional patterns, too.

My favorite name for the fish pattern is "Fish on a Dish."

It's still one of the cutest patterns out there, imho.
